Operator Training Program

 

Pope and Company, LLC, presents the original, up-to-date State Training Course. Course participants will be mailed before the program all course materials, books, and all course handout written material through priority mail. All participants will be mailed a detailed, comprehensive study guide. This study guide must be completed before the class and will be collected the day of the class. This process takes about nine (9) hours to complete so that participants will be well acquainted with all course books and written materials, state rules and regulations before they get to class.

Why Attend?

Owner/operator State of South Carolina Public Swimming Pool-Spa regulation 61-51. All public swimming pools shall be operated under the direction of a qualified swimming pool operator who holds a valid South Carolina Pool Operator's Certification.

  • This one-day course is the latest in training for those who are responsible for operating clean, safe, and efficient facilities. In-depth instruction is provided on filtration, disinfection, water testing and treatment, design considerations, facility management, risk management, facility troubleshooting, and much more.

  • This course is the training program specifically designed to meet the needs of those working in public, hotel, condo, semi-public, and municipal pool or water park facilities in the State of South Carolina.

  • This course includes an additional section that is specific to the study of South Carolina Regulation 61-51 and your facility's swimming pool. You will learn to recognize important aspects of this code and how it applies to the facility's swimming pool.

What You Will Learn

  • Recognize important aspects of South Carolina Swimming Pool Regulation 61-51 swimming pool code and how it applies to the facility swimming pool.

  • Recognize important aspects of water balance and pool chemistry and apply them to daily operations and management procedures.

  • List, document, and supervise required instrumentation of hydraulic and filtration systems and integrate them into daily operations and management procedures.

  • Be able to recognize and explain pertinent variables that determine and control pool costs.

  • Recognize important aspects of technical specification writing when entering into major swimming pool purchases.

  • Recognize important aspects of risk management, and apply these techniques to the everyday operations of a facility.

  • Explain basic procedures used when evaluating and solving common swimming pool-related problems.

  • Students will learn simple ways to master the information above and integrate it into the daily management and supervision of swimming pools and spas.

  • Basic aquatic operation and management.

  • The South Carolina Rules and Regulations.

  • The No. 1 Rated Program in South Carolina.

Certification

This program is an approved SCDHEC swimming pool operator course. Participants WILL receive the STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA POOL OPERATOR OF RECORD (POR) LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION. The certification/license is recognized for 5 years. There is NO annual renewal fee. To renew this license after 5 years, the operator must attend the one-day program but does NOT have to take exams over again.

2024 SC Licensed Swimming Pool/Spa Operators Training Program Schedule

The Swimming Pool Operator Program will begin at 9 a.m. each day. The program will conclude by 5 p.m. with the State of South Carolina Exam given on the afternoon of the day of class.
